On foundation of the Russian Risk Management Society

At present, in the entire world the risk management becomes one of the most significant management elements, the instrument of the increase of economic efficiency and business stability in the modern economy. Annexation of Russia to this international community appears to be absolutely necessary.

The advanced national culture of reasonable attitude to risks in the modern world has become one of the most important competitive advantages of the countries with high-developed economy. In the majority of cases, when discussing possible international investment projects, the parties mutually require to take adequate measures in respect of risk management for the joint project.

Industry, financial sector, agriculture and other branches of the Russian developing market economy, today experience serious risk loads. Apart from regular risks, characteristic for functioning of real economy objects, they are exposed to the risks, accompanying transitional period of the economy. Also further integration of Russia into the world market is inevitable (including possible entry of Russia in WTO), and consequently, the switchover of many Russian enterprises to the international business standards, which presume availability of risk management as a constituent part of their management practices. In this respect, the questions of granting investments are closely connected with the availability of risk management structures in the corresponding enterprises.

All Russian economy branches have acute requirement for specialists in different risk management aspects, the competence of which must be regularly updated. Another common demand is the certification of risk management products, financial tools and services, which today are offered on the market, as well as professional certification of risk-managers. Another urgent general need of the entire economy is the establishment of risk management standards. Another general requirement of all interested parties consists in establishment of public high-capacity information data- and knowledge base in risk management, performed in the Russian language. All these mechanisms have already been created and now successfully work in many countries in the world.

The development of risk management industry in Russia is required.

The Russian Risk Management Society, among the founders of which there are several largest public and noncommercial organizations of Russia, undertakes to organize joint efforts of all interested parties in the above mentioned directions.
